Mission:
Our purpose is to provide love, faith and financial support by directly supporting Minnesota's cancer warriors and their families verse the battle at hand.

JOB DESCRIPTION


Primary Tasks:
  • Attend board meetings
  • Oversee committees or projects as assigned
  • Support fundraising events as a volunteer worker or participant
  • Help grow the organization’s mission and brand within our community
  • Represent the mission and values of the INDY Foundation
  • Provide operational direction for the INDY Foundation
  • Support Foundation President with initiatives
Skills & Characteristics:
  • Collaborate and work with other board members and volunteers
  • Live the mission and values and incorporate them into all foundation efforts
  • Open minded, creative and think outside the box
  • Networking and making new connections within our communities
  • Passionate about helping others
  • Driven to achieve goals

Selection process:
  • Complete a Candidate Application and provide a resume
  • Recruitment committee reviews applicants, completes candidate interviews and makes recommendations to the board.
  • Board votes on candidates
Term and Time Commitment:
  • 2 year term
  • 15 hours per month

    BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPLICATION

    RECITALS 
    WHEREAS, Organization is a non-profit corporation that provides services and support for individuals with cancer and family members of individuals with cancer (collectively, “Clients”); and 
    WHEREAS, Organization often utilizes the services of volunteers to further its mission and Organization wishes to utilize the services of Volunteer to further its mission; and 
    WHEREAS, in the course of Volunteer’s work with Organization, it is likely Volunteer will become aware of or come in contact with certain confidential information, financial information, proprietary knowledge and techniques, trade secrets, Client names and contact information, Client health information, and other information; and 
    WHEREAS, Organization desires to take reasonable action to protect the confidentiality of its by securing certain restrictive covenants on the part of Volunteer in consideration of Volunteer's services with Organization. 
    AGREEMENT 
    1. Definitions.
    1. “Agreement” means the terms and conditions of this Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement entered 
into between Organization and Volunteer. 

    2. “Client Health Information” as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and as amended, means “any information, whether oral or recorded in any form or medium, that (A) is created or received by a health care provider, health plan, public health authority, employer, life insurer, school or university, or health care clearinghouse; and (B) relates to the past, present, or future physical or mental health or condition of an individual, the provision of health care to an individual, or the past, present, or future payment for the provision of health care to any individual.” 

    C. “Confidential Information” means any information, in any form and regardless of whether it was developed by a Party or acquired pursuant to a license, agreement or otherwise, which is not generally known to the public, including, without limitation, the terms of this Agreement, the Organization’s financial information, work product, procedures, processes, techniques, marketing plans, client lists, client contact information, client health information, trade secrets, information regarding sources of supply, business plans, potential agreements and the existence, scope and activities of any research, development, marketing, or other similar information with like-characteristics.
    1. “Effective Date” shall mean the date upon which both Parties have signed this Agreement. 

    2. “Parties” means collectively Organization and Volunteer, and “Party” refers to any one of them. 

    3. “Third Party” means any Person other than a Party to this Agreement. 

    2. Confidentiality 
    2.1 Covenant not to Disclose. Volunteer acknowledges that information he/she may acquire in the course of Volunteer’s services, to the extent not generally known or available to the public, constitutes confidential information of Organization. Volunteer agrees not to directly or indirectly disclose, divulge, disseminate, publish, furnish or make accessible to any Third Party, or use for Volunteer’s own benefit any confidential information of the Organization, unless written and explicit consent is given by the Organization. 
    2.2 Ownership. Volunteer agrees the Confidential Information is Organization's exclusive property and shall not be copied or removed from Organization's premises except for Organization business. 
    2.3 Return of Confidential Information. Volunteer agrees to return all such confidential information, including all records, drawings, notebooks, financial statements, and other documents pertaining to any confidential information, to Organization upon the termination, whether voluntary or involuntary, of Volunteer’s services for Organization. 
    2.4 Third Party Confidential Information. Volunteer will hold all confidential information of Organization’s Clients and any Third Party with whom Organization transacts business with or for in the strictest of confidence and do all things necessary for Organization to comply with the provisions of all contracts to which Organization is a party. 
    3. Remedies. In addition to all of the remedies otherwise available to Organization including, but not limited to recovery from Volunteer for damages and reasonable attorney’s fees incurred in the enforcement of this Agreement, Organization shall have the right to injunctive relief to restrain and enjoin any actual or threatened breach of the provisions as set forth in this Agreement. All of the Organization’s remedies for breach of this Agreement shall be cumulative and the pursuit of one remedy shall not be deemed to exclude any other remedies. 
    IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this Agreement on the dates indicated below. ​
    INDY Volunteer Agreement: If accepted as an INDY volunteer, you will be required to abide by the terms of the Volunteer Agreement. The agreement below details what INDY will expect of you and what you can expect from INDY. ​
